Job Summary
About the Role
This is a varied role for for an exceptional and motivated BI/Data engineer who is able to go between BI and some Data Engineering work.
You will get to build a generational business from the ground up work closely with proven founders and solve a problem that will meaningfully improve millions of lives.
We see the right person in this role building our BI function from scratch - everything from business reporting to data pipelines and product analytics. We work with immense amounts of data across a variety of modalities including diagnostic radiology and pathology as well as our ecosystem of partners and operational business
As an example here are some of the types of projects you might work on:
Build business reporting - define the right metrics and segments across the business. Build BAU reporting for teams and give them self-service tools to answer their own questions.
Build product and growth analytics - set up the infrastructure we need to answer business questions from across our product and growth tech stack.
Help train our AI models - we have custom ML models and LLMs we use for everything from clinical support systems to help doctors predict interventions and diagnoses to extract data from outdated documents and formats.
This is a full-time role with 2-3 days per week in-office for team members located near our Sydney (Surry Hills) office.
Responsibilities and scope:
Proven BI engineer: 4 years working as a BI engineer on a variety of problems that arent always engineering ones. This could be building pipelines wrangling data or answering business questions.
Truth-seeking: you care about getting the right answers and understanding the nuances of the data youre working with. You push others to find the truth and not the easiest answer and can quickly get to the 80/20 of questions with an answer.
Relentlessly resourceful: you arent afraid to get in the weeds and know when and how to move fast with limited resources while still thinking strategically. You can find 30 minute solutions to 30 day problems anticipate and work around obstacles and deliver results in half the time most competent people think is possible.
Unreasonably high standards: you hold yourself and those around you to standards so high some think theyre unreasonable. Whether its setting ambitious goals delighting customer or scaling operations you understand that excellence means caring about the details and always raising the bar.
