The Role
The successful candidate will:
Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that explore a range of religions beliefs and ethical issues
Encourage students to think critically reflect deeply and engage in respectful debate
Support students of all abilities through inclusive and differentiated teaching
Prepare students for GCSE Religious Studies examinations
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources
Support extracurricular opportunities such as debate clubs enrichment activities or themed events
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
Play an active role in the pastoral life of the school including form tutoring
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
Holds (or is working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has a degree in Religious Studies Theology Philosophy or a related subject
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for Religious Education
Is eager to develop their teaching practice as an Early Career Teacher
Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour
Is reflective open-minded and committed to ongoing professional development
Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team
