The Role
We are looking for a Head of Legal to ensure high and consistent legal quality across all client deliveries.
This role holds overall responsibility for legal quality methodology and professional standards within Frank and reports directly to the CEO.
The role is primarily operational and advisory not administrative. You will maintain your own client portfolio while acting as the senior legal authority quality assurer and sparring partner for the legal team.
The role does not include formal personnel responsibility but carries clear professional leadership responsibility.
Purpose of the Role
Ensure that all legal services meet high and consistent professional standards
Establish frameworks and methodologies that enable scalability
Create a safe and supportive environment for less experienced jurists
Act as the legal backbone of the organisation as Frank grows
Key Responsibilities
Legal Quality and Professional Leadership
Overall responsibility for legal quality across all client work
Quality assurance of legal advice documents and deliverables
Act as senior legal authority in complex matters
Provide guidance sparring and professional support to jurists
Ensure consistency in legal reasoning documentation and client communication
Operational Legal Delivery
Manage your own portfolio of client assignments
Handle matters across employment law contract law and corporate law
Support prioritisation and resource allocation across cases
Ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are managed
Structure Methodology and Scalability
Develop and maintain legal playbooks templates and standardised approaches
Contribute to the design of scalable service offerings
Support implementation of technology and AI tools in legal delivery
Identify opportunities for efficiency optimisation and quality improvement
Collaboration and Culture
Work closely with the CEO on legal direction and service development
Act as a role model for professionalism quality and work ethic
Prioritise team needs when required to ensure delivery continuity
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a highly experienced lawyer with a strong commercial mindset such as:
Background from a business law firm or legal advisory environment
Experience from legal teams within Big Four or similar environments
Alternatively senior experience from private commercial law firms
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum 10 years experience as a qualified lawyer
Solid experience from business-oriented legal advisory work
Broad legal competence particularly within employment law contract law and corporate law
Proven experience with legal quality assurance and review
Experience mentoring and guiding other lawyers or jurists
Strong commercial understanding and client orientation
