Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Design Engineer is to formulate and communicate highly complex technical designs and cost estimates to both the business and customers. This role specifically relates to CyrusOnes data center design and build process as well as the strategic goals objectives decisions regarding partners and suppliers. The Design Engineer further contributes to the organization by conducting strategic design and cost initiatives providing technical guidance and insight to the Sales Construction and Engineering teams in fulfilling requests related to strategy and direction.

Essential Functions:

Provide design and engineering expertise and direction for projects from the development stage to operational handover.

Prepare weekly reports for projects detailing progress challenges and successes to the Design Director.

The Design Engineer will be the lead authority for the technical design elements ensuring the Basis of Design or project brief are incorporated.

Primary responder for all technical customer RFP questions.

Prepare & present customer facing technical presentations regarding CyrusOnes datacentre offerings and customer specific solutions.

Requirements:

Degreequalified chartered or progressing with proven advisory capability and clear communication skills.

6-8 yrs experience in delivering data centre engineering and/or construction of hyperscale data centres or mission-critical facilities.

Strong knowledge of regulations MEP systems MV & LV distribution and safety systems.

Skilled in feasibility studies reporting technical reviews and delivering safe compliant valuefocused solutions.

Ability to comprehend analyse and interpret complex project documents.

Ability to effectively respond verbally or written to sensitive issues complex inquiries raised by internal stakeholders and customers.

Requires a high level of commitment to customer service whether co-workers or client.

London based and willing to travel around Europe once a month to cover site inspections and meetings.
