Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Hunter Valley Cessnock District Hospital is a 36-bed facility delivering essential healthcare services to the local community including emergency medical and surgical care. With a strong focus on teamwork community connection and compassionate care our hospital offers a supportive environment where nurses are empowered to grow collaborate and make a real difference every day.

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our close-knit team. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your clinical experience while working in a welcoming hospital that truly values its staff and the care they provide.



About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at Cessnock District Hospital you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality person-centred care across our medical and surgical wards. You will work closely with patients families and a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe compassionate and coordinated care throughout each patients journey.

No two days are the same you will have the opportunity to utilise and strengthen your clinical skills respond to changing patient needs and contribute to positive outcomes for the community you serve.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe high-quality and person-centred nursing care
  • Advocate for patients and support informed decision-making
  • Recognise and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
  • Contribute to discharge planning through appropriate referrals and coordination of care
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient outcomes
