Intern Failure Analysis

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Automation & Test Streamlining

• Develop and refine Python scripts to automate failure verification test processes.
• Improve test efficiency by creating tools for data parsing reporting and workflow standardization.
• Document code test procedures and results to ensure maintainability and repeatability.

Failure Verification & Analysis

• Perform basic failure verification testing on optical transceivers including electrical and optical performance checks.
• Assist engineers in rootcause identification by collecting test data performing preliminary analysis and summarizing findings.
• Operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes optical power meters BERTs and temperature chambers (training provided).
• Maintain accurate logs of failures test results and observations.

Education & Experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Physics Optical Engineering or a related field.
• Basic proficiency with Python (e.g. scripting data manipulation hardware communication).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow test procedures and document results clearly.

Working Conditions

• This role will be based on-site at Milmont facility in Fremont CA
• Regular use of a computer is expected.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
• Use of hands and fingers for typing writing and handling documents.
• Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Safety Requirements
