Job Summary
An Engineer II is responsible for delivering complex product features that are well-tested and bug-free. A good candidate will be skilled at breaking large problems into smaller ones and defining acceptance criteria and will excel at troubleshooting and resolving functional issues in the code. They understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and trade-offs.
The Employee Sales App team is responsible for making the Employee Sales mobile app a must-have for our retail employees assist customers in the store. We design and build employee-exclusive features and optimize the in-app experience to engage and retain our users. The Employee Sales mobile app is responsible for driving millions of dollars in revenue for Best Buy.
This role is hybrid which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. For this role you must be located within a drivable distance to our office in Richfield Minnesota
What Youll Do
The Employee Sales App team is responsible for making the Employee Sales mobile app a must-have for our retail employees assist customers in the store. What Youll Do
- Code small and large React Native hybrid application features from start to finish with various partner input.
- Assist in designing and planning business-driven features.
- Takes a mentoring initiative for personal and peer growth.
- Creates and improves internal libraries and tools.
- Partners with team-specific stakeholders to mitigate risk within the team and with external associates.
- Participates in and leads production support situations.
- Teaches best practices and context to internal developers.
- Keeps up with learning and applying industry trends.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and written with various business partners.
Basic Qualifications
- 2 years of relevant mobile engineering experience with a bachelors degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
- 1 year of experience with React Native development
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of relevant professional experience
- Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science Engineering or related field
- 2 years of experience with React Native development
- 3 years of experience with native Android and/or iOS development
