We are looking for an Infrastructure Architect Kubernetes & Hybrid Platforms (F/M) to support one of our clients based in Zurich.
The mission focuses on the design of a next-generation hosting platform built around Kubernetes and hybrid infrastructure (on-premise / cloud).
You will play a key role in defining the target infrastructure architecture ensuring scalability resilience and security of the platform while working closely with platform engineers network teams and external partners.
Tasks
Platform & Infrastructure Architecture
- Define the target architecture of the hosting platform based on Kubernetes and hybrid infrastructure principles.
- Design the overall infrastructure architecture including key components such as load balancing connectivity messaging and shared platform services.
- Define the architecture of core platform services (databases messaging systems infrastructure services).
- Ensure the platform architecture integrates security resilience and scalability requirements.
Infrastructure Strategy & Design
- Design high availability and geo-redundancy strategies for production environments.
- Define storage architectures for test pre-production and production platforms.
- Analyze potential synergies with existing VMware infrastructure.
- Contribute to the evolution of the global infrastructure strategy.
Governance & Technical Leadership
- Define integration guidelines and platform standards for applications.
- Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams and vendors.
- Ensure architectural documentation and alignment between infrastructure network and platform teams.
Requirements
You hold a degree in computer science IT engineering or a related field and have strong experience in infrastructure or platform architecture.
Required skills
- Strong experience as Infrastructure Architect or Platform Architect
- Good knowledge of Kubernetes and container platforms
- Experience with hybrid environments (on-premise / cloud)
- Experience designing high availability and resilient infrastructures
- Knowledge of VMware or virtualization platforms
- Experience with shared infrastructure services (databases messaging platforms)
- Strong architectural documentation and system design skills
- Ability to work in complex multi-stakeholder environments
- Autonomy proactivity and strong communication skills
Languages
- English: professional level required
- German: professional level required
- French: nice to have
