Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Hydrogeology/Geospatial Consulting Scientistfor our Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice in Burlington MA. In this role you will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team that supports projects focused on environmental site assessment contaminant fate and transport and related hydrogeologic and geospatial analyses. You will work with complex environmental and geospatial datasets to evaluate surface and subsurface hydrologic and geologic conditions develop and communicate conceptual site models and prepare high-quality technical deliverables for clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious technically rigorous and eager to expand their expertise into emerging environmental issues including evolving water and waste management policies/regulations and contaminants of emerging concern.

You will be responsible for

  • Examining surface and subsurface hydrologic and geologic conditions through the lens of water and contaminant fate & transport
  • Synthesizing technical information and applying critical thinking to prepare and review reports and technical presentations
  • Integrating processing and quality-checking large environmental and geospatial datasets
  • Developing and assisting in the development of conceptual site models for contaminated sites with varying scales hydrogeologic settings and contaminants of concern
  • Preparing clear visually effective figures maps and presentation materials to support client communications technical updates and project deliverables.
  • Working cooperatively on projects with other members of the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice and interdisciplinary groups from other Exponent practices as appropriate

You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • Ph.D. (or M.S. with relevant experience) in Hydrogeology Geology Earth Sciences Hydrology GIS Environmental Science or similar discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience in consulting or government agency (e.g. regulatory agency Army Corps of Engineers EPA DEP)
  • Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools is required; (ArcGIS Professional experience strongly desired)
  • Expertise in large dataset integration visualization and geospatial data analysis
  • Excellent communication organization and writing skills
  • Must be detail-oriented able to work independently and as part of a team and manage time effectively
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Commitment to personal and professional development
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponents total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

Salary Range

USD $110000.00 - USD $131000.00 /Yr.
