Your Role

An exciting role exists to join the team at Catholic Education Office in the position of Risk and Governance Coordinator to commence as soon as possible or as negotiated with the successful applicant. This is a full time continuing position for 40 hours per week.

The role presents a wonderful opportunity to impact school communities by supporting students staff and families to enhance safety quality and wellbeing. Key responsibilities include collaborating with principals and administrative staff to promote effective communication updating policies monitoring and maintaining risk registers and working with teams across the organisation.

Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of governance compliance and risk-related education laws as well as skills in strategic planning problem solving and communication. The location is flexible within the Diocese such as Rockhampton or other negotiated areas.

Typical duties include but are not limited:

  • Supporting and maintaining compliance and risk frameworks for Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton (CEDR) in collaboration with internal stakeholders ensuring alignment with industry standards and governance principles.
  • Monitoring and reviewing governance structures risk registers and policy documents to ensure they remain current and effective.
  • Tracking and analysing regulatory changes across the education sector and government levels providing insights and recommendations to inform organisation responses and policy development.
  • Assisting in risk management activities including contract reviews school support and development of fit-for-purpose policies that promote safety compliance and educational quality.
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure governance and risk frameworks reflect emerging issues particularly those impacting student wellbeing and educational outcomes.

  • A tertiary qualification applicable to the role relevant to governance risk and compliance or similar plus extensive and relevant experience as required to reflect higher levels of professional outcomes.
