TheDoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Centeris seeking an experienced Executive Meetings Manager to join our team. This position is 100% on-site no remote work.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport Convention Center is conveniently situated just south of Miami International Airport off the Dolphin Expressway adjacent to the Blue Lagoon Business District. The hotel features 334 guestrooms onsite dining fitness room outdoor pool business center complimentary High-Speed Internet Access 24000 square feet of retail space 20000 Square feet of Hotel Meeting and Function Space and a Convention Center with 152000 square feet of meeting event and exhibit space.
This position will be an exempt position and will report to the Director of Sales.
The Executive Meeting Manager EMM is an integral part of the sales team focused on working short term smaller groups (typically up to 50 rooms/peak) and smaller meetings typically of 100 guests or less. This position will also oversee corporate sales and will develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve corporate sales targets Other sized groups/meetings may be assigned based on hotel business needs as directed by management team.
The EMM This position works on all aspects of the sales process from receiving inquiry calls booking business confirming details and working with the group while they are on-site. A flexible work schedule is required as this is not a standard Monday-Friday position.
A minimum of (1) or more years of experience at a full-service hotel country club or similar type of venue is required for this role. This role has a guest room & a catering sales target goal.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to foster long-term corporate partnerships
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive friendly courteous and service oriented manner.
- Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Attending all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing nametags.
- Comply with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Must be effective in handling problems including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information data etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Answering telephone inquiries and qualifying clients for meetings and events
- Book repeat business by having a track record of long-term client relationships
- Comfortable with hotel site inspections and client presentations
- Work closely with the banquet department on operations and event execution
- Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action
- Provide overall direction coordination and ongoing evaluation of operations
- Detailed execution of all banquet event orders for the groups and meetings.
- Monitor group room blocks and pick up generate detailed resumes for the operating departments
- Ability to work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction for all events/groups
- The ideal candidate should have excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to effectively close business as well as strong time management skills and attention to detail
- Use knowledge of Delphi a plus
Qualifications/ Skills:
Education & Experience:
- At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience or a 4 year college degree and at least 2 year of related experience or a 2year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience..
- Must have a valid drivers license in the applicable state.
- Must be skilled in computer applications hotel sales systems Microsoft office.

- Flexibility and long hours sometimes required.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
