Job Summary
The Middle School English Language Arts Teacher is responsible for providing engaging rigorous instruction in reading writing grammar and literature while fostering a classroom environment rooted in Catholic values. The teacher supports the academic spiritual and personal growth of students and promotes a love for reading effective communication and critical thinking. The ideal candidate integrates faith into daily instruction and contributes to the mission of Catholic education.
Job Responsibilities
- Integrate Catholic values and teachings into classroom routines interactions and instructional content.
- Plan and deliver ELA instruction aligned with curriculum standards emphasizing strong literacy skills and analytical thinking.
- Teach reading comprehension vocabulary grammar composition and literary analysis using diverse instructional strategies.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of varied learners and support student success.
- Promote a safe respectful and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Assess student work using formative and summative assessments providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Communicate effectively with students parents and colleagues regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
- Participate in school liturgies prayer professional development and community events as part of the Catholic school faculty.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in Education English or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Valid teaching credential or certification appropriate for middle school ELA.
Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
Strong knowledge of ELA content literacy instruction and adolescent learning.
Effective classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to use instructional technology to support learning.
Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to schoolwide initiatives.
