Position Summary
We are hiring an Electrical Controls Engineer II to lead and support capital improvement projects and electrical automation systems within a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for the design implementation and management of industrial electrical and control systems across manufacturing facilities in North America.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on expertise in PLC programming industrial automation and project execution with the ability to manage projects from initial concept through commissioning and startup.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical & Controls Engineering

Design and implement electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.

Develop and review electrical specifications and technical documentation.
-
Perform engineering calculations system design and configuration for plant projects.

Ensure compliance with corporate engineering standards and best practices.
Project Management
-
Manage multiple capital projects from scope development to completion.
-
Define project scope schedules budgets and technical requirements.
-
Deliver projects on time and within budget (typical project size: $50K-$200K).

Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.
Troubleshooting & Operational Support

Provide hands-on troubleshooting for electrical and automation systems.

Partner with maintenance teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance plant performance.
Vendor & Contractor Management
-
Coordinate with external engineering firms contractors and equipment suppliers.
-
Prepare bid packages evaluate proposals and support procurement activities.
-
Oversee equipment installation commissioning startup and workforce training.
Safety & Compliance
-
Promote and support electrical safety programs within the facility.
-
Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E standards.
-
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for system failures.
Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical controls or automation within manufacturing.

Strong expertise in Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI systems (including programming).

Experience with industrial control networks and automation communication protocols.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Working knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications

5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.

Experience with 480V power distribution systems including:

Exposure to 4160V power distribution systems.

Experience collaborating with external engineering firms and contractors.
