- The Homelessness Project Worker is a 2-3 month contract role with a local authority focused on providing high-quality practical support to individuals affected by homelessness within Haringeys specialist housing services. This position is crucial in assisting service users to achieve positive outcomes in housing health employment and overall wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Provide empathetic non-judgemental communication to individuals facing homelessness.
- Deliver support through face-to-face sessions telephone and virtual methods.
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments including needs risks priorities and strengths.
- Develop person-centred action plans to help clients achieve their goals.
- Assist clients with claims for housing benefit welfare benefits and immigration-related applications (e.g. EU Settled Status).
Essential Experience Required
- Experience or understanding of issues affecting vulnerable or homeless individuals.
- Ability to work respectfully and proactively reducing distress and managing conflict appropriately.
- Knowledge of safeguarding domestic violence procedures and health & safety standards.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Training in safeguarding domestic abuse homelessness legislation or housing-related support.
- Relevant vocational qualifications in social care housing or support work (desirable but not essential).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 36 hours per week
- Role requires DBS.
- We operate on a bi-weekly payment schedule.
