• Wadawurrung / Geelong based role (hybrid work from home 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

The Marketing and Communications Advisor is part of the Marketing Communications team which delivers and supports the marketing communications needs of WorkSafes business units. This position works closely with the Manager Marketing Communications and Senior Advisors to deliver WorkSafes external communications programs and campaigns.

The purpose of our marketing and communication activities is to increase community awareness of health and safety encourage behaviour change of employers and workers and leverage the influence of our partners clients and the community using social marketing principles and a range of marketing and communications techniques. Our primary service lines are paid marketing campaigns strategic communications advice below the line targeted communications using sponsorship and owned digital marketing channels.

Key accountabilities

• Plan develop implement and evaluate multi-channel communications plans to support business initiatives projects and tactical campaigns ensuring these are delivered on time and within budget.
• Work with the Senior Advisors and Manager Marketing Communications to deliver communications activities and marketing campaigns.
• Clearly prioritise and schedule the delivery of marketing communication services for internal clients.
• Work collaboratively and in partnership across the External Affairs division and WorkSafe business units to provide specialised services that ensure marketing communication initiatives and content meet stakeholder needs our marketing plans and WorkSafes strategic priorities.
• Support the delivery of business events forums and change initiatives.
• Work with the Research team to apply market research methods to understand emerging trends and technologies and use insight to optimise projects.
• Manage external suppliers such as media buyers creative agencies graphic designers print and direct marketing agencies to deliver communications activities.
• Monitor and report expenditure for marketing communication activities.

About you

You are an experienced Marketing and Communications Advisor who thrives in fast paced environments and delivering in a timely manner. As a confident and persuasive communicator you excel at negotiation and influence. Your strong stakeholder engagement skills enable you to build and maintain positive working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Additionally you will possess the following skills and experience:

• Experience developing and evaluating multi-channel marketing communications and public relations campaigns to meet defined objectives.
• Experience in a politically sensitive stakeholder focused and issues-rich environment.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate issues or messages clearly simply and effectively to a range of audiences.
• Experience using digital channels including social media and email marketing to meet goals.
• Strong planning and organisational skills and an ability to manage workflow budget and priorities including managing multiple concurrent activities and stakeholders.
• Ability to problem solve and be professional when managing issues and conflict in a complex stakeholder and issues-rich environment.
• Strong computer skills in Word Excel PowerPoint Canva and email (Outlook preferred).
• An understanding of the construction sector (highly desired).
• Tertiary qualification in marketing communications or another related discipline.
