The opportunity

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join Downers Energy & Utilities business supporting our Water QLD operations. Based in our Mango Hill office and reporting to the Head of Finance - Water QLD this role plays a critical leadership and business partnering function working closely with Operations Project teams and senior stakeholders to drive financial performance commercial outcomes and strategic objectives.

This is a highly influential role at the centre of the business responsible for financial governance performance reporting forecasting project valuation working capital management and strategic financial planning across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects. You will lead and develop a high-performing finance team embedding strong financial controls continuous improvement and a culture of excellence collaboration and accountability.

This role is vital to the success of our operations enabling informed decision-making maximising project returns strengthening financial discipline and supporting sustainable long-term growth across the sector.

What youll do

Partner with Operations and Project teams to drive financial performance forecasting accuracy and commercial outcomes
Lead project valuation month-end reporting budgeting and forecasting cycles (WD5/WD10)
Oversee working capital cashflow optimisation WIP billing and profitability analysis
Lead mentor and develop the sector finance team building capability and future leadership pipelines
Provide strategic financial insight to support bids investment decisions and challenged contracts

What were looking for

CPA or CA qualified (or equivalent) with 10 years experience in financial/project accounting within complex environments
Proven leadership capability with experience building and developing high-performing teams
Strong commercial acumen and experience in long-term contract accounting
Excellent stakeholder engagement business partnering and communication skills
Strong systems and analytics capability (ERP reporting tools advanced Excel)
