We are seeking a Finance Manager to join Downers Energy & Utilities business supporting our Water QLD operations. Based in our Mango Hill office and reporting to the Head of Finance - Water QLD this role plays a critical leadership and business partnering function working closely with Operations Project teams and senior stakeholders to drive financial performance commercial outcomes and strategic objectives.
This is a highly influential role at the centre of the business responsible for financial governance performance reporting forecasting project valuation working capital management and strategic financial planning across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects. You will lead and develop a high-performing finance team embedding strong financial controls continuous improvement and a culture of excellence collaboration and accountability.
This role is vital to the success of our operations enabling informed decision-making maximising project returns strengthening financial discipline and supporting sustainable long-term growth across the sector.
What youll do
- Partner with Operations and Project teams to drive financial performance forecasting accuracy and commercial outcomes
- Lead project valuation month-end reporting budgeting and forecasting cycles (WD5/WD10)
- Oversee working capital cashflow optimisation WIP billing and profitability analysis
- Lead mentor and develop the sector finance team building capability and future leadership pipelines
- Provide strategic financial insight to support bids investment decisions and challenged contracts

- CPA or CA qualified (or equivalent) with 10 years experience in financial/project accounting within complex environments
- Proven leadership capability with experience building and developing high-performing teams
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in long-term contract accounting
- Excellent stakeholder engagement business partnering and communication skills
- Strong systems and analytics capability (ERP reporting tools advanced Excel)
