The Role
Were looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance function at our high volume can manufacturing facility in Dandenong. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving the sites engineering strategy improving reliability and building stronger systems and processes across maintenance asset management and stores.
You will lead a team of engineers planners team leaders and trades partnering closely with production to reduce downtime improve plant performance and deliver continuous improvement across the manufacturing lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the site engineering and maintenance team building capability and a strong performance culture.
- Drive a proactive maintenance and reliability strategy shifting the site from reactive to preventative maintenance.
- Improve asset management systems and processes including CMMS utilisation maintenance planning and engineering standards.
- Partner closely with production to reduce downtime improve line efficiency and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee engineering projects and site capital works including equipment upgrades reliability improvements and asset lifecycle planning.
About You
- Strong technical engineering leader ideally with both a trade background and engineering degree
- Experience in high speed FMCG packaging or automated manufacturing environments with a solid understanding of maintenance reliability and plant performance.
- Proven track record implementing asset management strategies and preventative maintenance programs to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- People focused leader with experience developing technical teams and strengthening collaboration between engineering and production.
- Hands on and visible leadership style comfortable spending time on the shop floor identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement.
