Responsibilities:Report quicklyclearlyand accurately and deliver news via stories video newsletterssocialmediaor any other methods available to reach our audience. Use metrics to inform story choices and shape beat strategies. Identifytop trending stories of the day based on analytics and audience potentialspecificto attracting search and social audiences. Work with editors to experiment with new ways of informing and engaging audiences on social platforms and alternate story forms. This includes experimenting with long-tail(evergreen) content. Monitor real-time news and sniff out the most important and fascinating stories important to our audiences. Demonstratesolid news judgment on an ongoing basis while following USA Today Co.s best public safety reporting practices. Requirements: Bachelors or masters in communications journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three or more years in the journalism industry. Experience using social media accounts to identifystoriesa plus. Experience creating visual news graphics optimizedfor social a plus. This role requires a valid drivers license reliable transportation and the minimum liability insurance required by state law.
