POSITION SUMMARY
Tiverton is seeking a proactive and resourceful Associate who can provide the highest quality financial and investment analysis for Tiverton while also undertaking various other tasks endemic to a young fast-growing company. The desired candidate will be a problem solver with an eagerness to work in a dynamic environment.
The Associate will be an integral part of the investment team of Tiverton and provide critical support to deal teams as they pursue challenging and creative capital and operational solutions to the food value chain. The successful Associate will be self-motivated and energized by working with a group of thoughtful smart and skilled colleagues. They will enjoy being a part of a young and hungry organization focused on becoming the pre-eminent investment firm in the food value chain.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and conduct due diligence and underwriting on private investments (both credit and equity) in the US food value chain
- Build and modify cash flow valuation and transaction models
- Conduct initial screenings and assessments of investment opportunities based on strategic fit financial performance and growth potential
- Prepare investment memorandums; present recommendations and due diligence findings to internal committees and investors
- Assist in managing deal execution processes including deal documentation closing logistics and funding arrangements within established timelines
- Partner with legal counsel to review deal terms as well as negotiate and execute investment transactions
- Perform and develop industry/sector research and analysis
- Provide investor support including but not limited to portfolio management and reporting
- Support fundraising initiatives and investor needs
- Assist with other ad hoc projects
Qualifications :
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance economics mathematics or other related majors
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- 3-5 years or related internship experience in private equity investment banking or management consulting
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills specifically Excel
- Ability to create financial models and an understanding of accounting principles
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of transaction teams
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dedicated work ethic and commitment to enhancing the team
- Outstanding organization decision making and problem-solving skills
- Entrepreneurial attitude and desire to work for a dynamic and successful organization
