The Project Support Officer will provide project administration and coordination to support the delivery of the vision priorities and outcomes of the Community Health and Wellbeing Department.

What youll be doing:

  • Provide administrative and community engagement support to a range of programs and activities.
  • Provide support to maintain systems and contact databases that support networks and community stakeholder contacts (both internal and external) for the team.
  • Provide project and operational support including monitoring and reporting on project plans milestones and deliverables to ensure time cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project and work plans. 
  • Support the Team in managing program risks by ensuring the risk register is kept up to date and issues are escalated as required.  
  • Provide support in the development of strategies and policies including reviewing documentation and ensuring documentation is produced in alignment with Council branding and standards. 
  • Identify community engagement opportunities and increase participation in the range of programs and activities provided by Council.
  • Assist with the planning set up and delivery of community programs initiatives and events.

The skills and experience youll bring to the role:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office software (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) and various Council software application including Finance Once InfoCouncil and TRIM.
  • Experience in back end operating systems for online meeting platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.
  • Skills in managing time setting priorities planning and organising workloads and achieving objectives within set timeframes.
  • Assist in the implementation of change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to gain co-operation from and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Capacity to develop networks with both internal and external service providers.

Required Certifications & Qualifications 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in project management business administration or process improvement related discipline and/or relevant experience. 
  • Experience in a local government context.
