Technology-WozEd Instructional Teacher
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Performs a variety of tasks as an instructional technology teacher and assist with the integration of STEM across the curriculum. The teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging project-base computer science and technology education aligned with the WozEd curriculum framework. This role supports students in developing computational thinking digital citizenship and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning experiences. The WozEd teacher collaborates with classroom teachers Esports Teacher integrates technology across disciplines and fosters student curiosity in STEM and computer science. Reports to the CEO/Principal/Director of Curriculum.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides technology instruction to students and follows the NC Digital Learning Competencies.
Plan and deliver WozEd curriculum units/lessons that align with grade-level standards and learning objectives.
Provides key instruction using the WozEd curriculum to teach the pathways of robotics engineering design process mobile development coding data science and artificial intelligence.
Gathers information documenting the effectiveness of any technology program interprets this information and provides constructive input in evaluation of the program.
Monitors student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Provides constructive feedback to support skill development.
Documents student growth in computational thinking and digital literacy.
Attends professional development and stay current with WozEd resources and best practices.
Participates in curriculum planning and instructional improvement initiatives.
Provides technology instruction to students on how to utilize Google Suite Google Classroom general keyboarding and STEM technology equipment that is utilized within the WozEd Pathways.
Learns and understands the WozEd curriculum.
Differentiates instruction for learners at varying levels to foster an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
Maintains current knowledge of technology and instructional practices that relate to the use of technology including in STEM careers.
Provides resource information relating to new techniques and practices that relate to the use of technology and that enable students to use technology as a learning tool.
Communicates with the Admin Team to share information about the technology program.
Communicates student progress to families through reports conferences or digital platforms.
Participates in all required staff meetings and curricular meetings.
Performs other related work as required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (preferred/not required) in technology education supplemented by specialized computer courses library science/media specialist business education or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills knowledge and abilities in technology.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General knowledge of the STEM curriculum.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of existing technology programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Ability to work and communicate with diverse groups and organizations.
Ability to develop and conduct presentations.
Ability to use technology and to teach various technology programs to students such as Google Suite.
Ability to understand to the NC technology standards and to create lessons utilizing these standards.
Ability to investigate study and learn new technologies to teach the students.
Ability to learn and teach the use of various STEM tools/devices such as drones coding and/or robotics.
Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
Ability to learn understand and execute the WozEd Curriculum and how to utilize the kits.
