Job Summary (List Format) Administrative Hearing Officer
- Conducts administrative hearings remotely (via phone or video) ensuring fair and efficient proceedings.
- Manages all aspects of hearings: asks questions takes testimony makes evidentiary rulings and maintains procedural control.
- Analyzes testimony documentary evidence and regulatory frameworks to reach well-reasoned decisions.
- Drafts and issues clear legally sound written decisions based on hearing records and applicable law.
- Provides guidance and support to hearing participants helping them navigate the hearing process.
- Responds to stakeholder and customer complaints related to hearings.
- Ensures the implementation of decisions and maintains accurate post-hearing records and documentation.
- Requires prior experience as a hearing officer in an administrative tribunal.
- Strong skills in evaluating evidence decision writing and understanding administrative procedure and due process are essential.
- Excellent written and oral communication required; JD or equivalent legal education preferred but not required.
- 100% remote position; out-of-state applicants welcome; writing sample required.
