Position Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations for AIMS Companies. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data leads the month-end and year-end close processes and maintains compliance across multiple states and business units. The Controller provides strategic financial oversight while remaining hands-on with day-to-day accounting activities driving process improvements strengthening internal controls and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations -
Lead and manage all accounting functions including AP AR payroll accounting cash management and general ledger.

Oversee and execute month-end and year-end close processes including reconciliations accruals journal entries and variance analysis.

Ensure accuracy of job costing revenue recognition and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.

Maintain compliance with all multi-state tax filings and regulatory requirements.

Monitor and manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Financial Reporting -
Prepare and review timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.

Lead consolidated financial reporting and intercompany reconciliations across business units.

Develop internal dashboards and reporting tools to support decision-making.

Manage year-end audit process and serve as primary liaison with external auditors.
Process Improvement & Controls -
Design implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.

Identify and lead initiatives to improve accounting workflows reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Ensure proper documentation of financial procedures and policies.

Evaluate and implement new systems tools and automation opportunities.
Leadership & Collaboration -
Lead mentor and develop accounting staff ensuring accountability and professional growth.

Partner with operations project managers procurement and executive leadership to align financial insights with business strategy.

Provide cross-functional financial guidance and support decision-making across the organization.
Qualifications -
Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or related field required (CPA preferred).

7 12 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and close processes.

Experience in multi-state operations; job costing or construction-related industry experience strongly preferred.

Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems.

Proven ability to lead teams manage deadlines and drive process improvements.

Highly detail-oriented organized and analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
