  • Fully remote role work from home (Australia-wide) 4 or 5 days a week role
  • Offering a competitive base salary starting at $116222 (commensurate with skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
  • Full time fixed term contract until 31 January 2027

Purpose of the role

The role involves translating high-quality education research and policy analysis into clear actionable guidance on evidence-based teaching practice for teachers and leaders. It requires using teaching and learning expertise for the development and dissemination of guidance and resources to build school practitioners knowledge and includes engaging with a range of stakeholders to ensure the guidance we develop is relevant trusted and adopted.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide teaching and learning expertise to scope plan and design teaching and learning guidance and resource development projects aligned to AEROs annual research agenda.
  • Provide expert advice on evidence-based practice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality engagement and consultation with school teachers and leaders to inform project activities and deliverables and to encourage widespread uptake of our guidance.
  • Develop evidence-based guidance and resources that support school teachers leaders and policymakers to use more evidence-based practices.
  • Provide high-quality advice and support for dissemination activities that maximise the impact of AERO research products on the Australian education community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from across AERO as well as external stakeholders to ensure research projects and products are high quality and high impact.
  • Contribute strategic advice based on experience and expertise to the planning of AEROs annual research agenda and work plan.

Knowledge Skills and ExperienceEssential requirements:

  • Qualifications in education and/or public policy social sciences or another relevant discipline.

Desirable knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in a team within an education system sector or organisation to deliver complex projects.
  • Experience as a teacher in schools or strong knowledge of this context including knowledge of the Australian education sector key stakeholders policies and frameworks.
  • Proven experience working in and/or leading project teams to deliver high quality products under tight timelines and competing priorities.
