Overview

ISS STOXXs Sustainability Research division provides a wide range of marketleading ESG research ratings and screening solutions that support investors in developing responsible investment policies and practices. Two key areas within the division are the Sustainability Bond Rating (SBR) solution under Integrated Solutions and the ESG Corporate Ratings Team which assesses the sustainability performance of corporate issuers across multiple sectors.

We are seeking Research Analysts to join our team in Manila Philippines. The successful candidates will support the production of Sustainability Bond Ratings as well as ESG Corporate Ratings for the Financials & Real Estate (FiRe) sector. Research Analysts will be responsible for generating highquality research outputs contributing to methodological enhancements and ensuring that all processes meet ISS STOXXs quality and consistency addition research analysts will work closely with colleagues across Integrated Solutions Corporate Ratings Methodology Product and Data Governance teams.

Responsibilities

Sustainability Bond Ratings (SBR)

  • Actively support the production of Sustainability Bond Ratings with a strong focus on quality management process consistency and ongoing enhancement.
  • Independently assess ESGrelated fixed income data including comprehensive reviews of regulatory climate environmental and social elements.
  • Analyze E&S risks SDG contributions and labelled debt structures across a bondlevel universe using over 150 datapoints per instrument.
  • Contribute to methodology improvements in consultation with crossfunctional stakeholders across Integrated Solutions and related teams.

ESG Corporate Ratings Financials & Real Estate Sector

  • Systematically collect ESG data from company disclosures including sustainability reports annual reports regulatory filings and corporate websites in line with ISS STOXX methodology.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative ESG research assessing company performance on topics such as:
    • Labor and working conditions
    • Supply chain management
    • ESG governance practices
    • Environmental management and performance data
    • Emissions and resource consumption
    • Sectorspecific ESG issues relevant to FiRe companies
  • Produce individual ESG rating reports and participate in industry or themefocused research projects as needed.
  • Develop sector expertise tracking key ESG developments and trends within the Financials & Real Estate industry.
  • Support the ratings team through contributions to methodology reviews thought leadership content and identification of new data sources.
  • Participate in quality control procedures including data checks peer reviews and training support for processrelated topics.
  • Take ownership of production targets ensuring timely delivery of highquality research.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred) in Economics Finance Statistics Sustainability Environmental Science Development Studies Human Rights or related fields.
  • 34 years of relevant experience in ESG ratings sustainable finance financial services credit research sustainabilityrelated fields or corporate/investment research.
  • Prior experience in Fixed Income labelled debt or Financials sector research is an advantage.
  • Strong research quantitative and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to process and interpret large amounts of data efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills ability to prioritize tasks and strong work ethic with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a dynamic fastevolving ESG environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with ESG frameworks and sustainable investment is a plus.
