About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs ensuring that all staff implement effective strategies to support learning and wellbeing. You will lead on assessment intervention and compliance with statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and coordinating SEN provision across the school
Supporting teachers with strategies and resources for pupils with additional needs
Assessing pupils and monitoring progress to inform interventions
Liaising with parents external agencies and local authorities
Ensuring compliance with statutory SEN regulations and policies
Training and supporting staff on SEN best practice
Contributing to school development planning and inclusion initiatives
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS and have previous SENCO experience or relevant qualification
Have in-depth knowledge of SEN legislation policies and best practice
Demonstrate strong leadership organisational and communication skills
Be able to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
Work collaboratively with staff parents and external professionals
Be proactive flexible and solution-focused
