Job Title: District Math Coach
Reports To: Director of Accountability
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: District-Wide
Contract: 202 Days
Position Summary:
The District Math Lead Coach (K8) will lead the development and implementation of high-quality mathematics instruction across the district. This individual will support teachers and administrators in improving math instruction and student achievement by providing coaching modeling lessons facilitating professional development analyzing data and aligning curriculum with state standards. This person will also lead a team of Campus Math Coaches. The coach will serve as a content expert and instructional leader working collaboratively with school teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement in mathematics education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with district leadership to develop and implement a K8 math vision aligned with curriculum standards and best practices.
- Support classroom teachers in planning and delivering effective standards-based mathematics instruction.
- Provide in-class coaching demonstration lessons and co-teaching to enhance instructional practices.
- Design and lead professional development workshops PLCs and training sessions for teachers and instructional staff.
- Assist in analyzing student achievement data and assist schools in using data to drive instruction and intervention strategies.
- Assist in the adoption implementation and evaluation of instructional resources and curriculum materials.
- Stay current with research-based instructional practices curriculum standards and assessment tools in the field of mathematics education.
- Provide guidance and support for math intervention.
- Serve as a liaison between schools and the district curriculum office to ensure coherence and continuity in math instruction.
- Collaborate with principals instructional coaches and teacher leaders to build capacity at the school level.
- Support the integration of technology into math instruction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in mathematics content and pedagogy.
- Experience teaching Eureka Great Minds or Carnegie 6-8 math curriculum
- Experience coaching teachers or leading professional development.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
- Familiarity with math intervention strategies and programs.
- Understanding of data-driven instructional planning and assessment tools.
- Experience with culturally responsive teaching practices.
Working Conditions:
- Travel between school sites within the district.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours for professional development sessions or meetings.
