Job Summary

Job Title: Dental Hygienist

Specialty: Dental Hygiene / Oral Health

Site: Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood

Location: 9595 W. Quincy Avenue Littleton CO 80123

Duration: 1-year base contract with four (4) option years.

Shift Schedule: Normally 8-hour shifts 4 days per week (maximum 32 hours/week).
Work hours generally between 6:00 AM 4:30 PM excluding federal holidays.

How many shifts needed per month: Approximately 16 shifts per month (32 hours/week schedule).

Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks

License: Any state license works.

Certifications:

CPR Certification
Radiology Certification

Experience needed: Minimum 2 years of current experience as a Dental Hygienist

Special Skills needed:

Dental prophylaxis and periodontal care
Dental screening and periodontal charting
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (BEMR preferred)
Infection control procedures
Ability to work in a correctional healthcare environment

Responsibilities:

Perform dental prophylaxis and fluoride treatments.
Conduct dental screening exams periodontal charting and scaling procedures.
Assist with periodontal treatments including root planning and soft tissue care.
Place temporary fillings sealants periodontal packs and remove sutures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and dental health practices.
Maintain accurate documentation in the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR) system.
Support dental clinic operations and assist with administrative duties as required.

Misc:

Work will be performed inside a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility.
