Position Overview
The Social Media Manager leads SOCOMs digital and social media presence ensuring clear secure and strategic engagement across platforms. This role serves as the commands primary social media authority and advisor working closely with PA leadership and senior officials in a highvisibility highsecurity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute SOCOMs social media strategy
- Manage andoptimizecontent across all official platforms
- Create and oversee multimedia content tailored to social media audiences
- Monitor engagement public sentiment and emerging issues
- Manage crisis communication and misinformation response
- Track analytics and develop performance reports for leadership
- Coordinate messaging with internal and external PA partners
- Provide training guidance and best practices across the command
- Ensure compliance with DoD policies OPSEC and cybersecurity standards
Requirements
- Possess active Secret Clearance
- Bachelors degree in communications Public Relations Journalism Digital Media Marketing or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in social media management public affairs or digital communications
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting senior leaders (at the CEO / General Officer Level) with managing social media platforms.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in conducting social media analytics and generating performance reports using management and analytics platforms
- Minimum 2 years of experienceutilizingAdobe Creative Suite
- Minimum 2 years of experience providing support for military communication guidelines OPSEC and public affairs protocols as military civilian or contractor personnel.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with prompt engineering for generative AI tools used to create social media content and analysis.
Location & Hours
- On-site at HQ USSOCOM and HQ SOCCENT MacDill AFB FL
- MondayFriday (Federal holidays excluded)
