Your role

Performs camera systems and video control tasks required to create and manipulate visual content. Creative problem solving is required to generate visual outputs where requirements are often well defined. Work is generally performed according to accepted CBC or industry standards and with direction. Some assignments require independent action judgment and initiative as well as consultation with other programs production or technical personnel. There is some requirement to coordinate the work of others either locally or remotely.

Main responsibilities:

  • Contribute to production in achieving the best pictorial results through such things as framing composition of camera shots and the proper light-to-signal transfer characteristics.

  • Frame shots using a remote camera system to pan tilt zoom and focus.

  • Reframe shots during the production while live on air.

  • Create show files by inputting required coordinates and parameters.

  • Store and execute show files for multiple camera systems to move cameras to specific floor positions.

  • Reset operational control parameters to solve problems in deviation. Ability to anticipate changes and show requirements on a continuous basis is required.

  • Take appropriate steps to ensure the continuing safety of self and others and to ensure the protection of technical assets.

  • Basic camera and cable maintenance including troubleshooting signal flow may be required as part of signal continuity confirmation.

  • Provide creative input to maintain the desired program video quality and appearance of signals during live production from either local or remote sources.

  • Requirement to communicate changes and take direction under tight time restraints.

Your profile

  • You possess working knowledge and understanding of television and digital content production in a live environment.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working with robotic camera systems.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience video shading on multi-camera productions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strong safety awareness on and off set.

  • A proven work ethic and a positive team-first attitude.

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible irregular hours depending on the assignment.
