We are looking for a highly skilled Group Tax Manager to join Kaizen Gamings Group Tax Team in Athens. This role will support and coordinate direct and indirect tax matters across the Group while also contributing to tax accounting reporting transfer pricing tax risk management audits and tax advisory support. A key part of the role will be taking delegated ownership of the tax workstream related to international expansion legal entity set-ups restructurings and M&A activity across the Group. The role will involve partnering with internal stakeholders and external advisors on tax due diligence transaction structuring post-deal integration and the assessment of tax implications arising from entry into new markets or changes in the Groups operating model.
As a Tax Manager you will:
Direct & Indirect Tax Compliance
- Support and oversee the Groups direct and indirect tax compliance processes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure the timely and accurate review and coordination of key tax filings including corporate income tax VAT/GST withholding taxes and other applicable local taxes.
- Monitor tax payment obligations reconciliations and compliance calendars to ensure adherence to internal deadlines and external requirements.
- Partner with local teams and external advisors to review tax returns statutory filings and supporting documentation.
Tax Accounting Reporting & Forecasting
- Support current and deferred tax calculations tax provisions reconciliations and related tax reporting processes.
- Contribute to effective tax rate monitoring and support statutory and consolidated financial statement reporting from a tax perspective.
- Work closely with Finance and FP&A on cash tax forecasting budgeting and tax-related planning.
- Support the delivery of tax numbers and disclosures and help ensure that associated controls are appropriately designed and implemented.
Tax Advisory & Business Partnering
- Act as a key advisor to internal stakeholders on direct and indirect tax matters including new business models operational changes contractual arrangements and product launches.
- Provide practical guidance on tax implications arising from new market expansion restructuring projects and intercompany arrangements.
- Review business and legal arrangements from a tax perspective and provide recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Help raise tax awareness across the organization and promote proactive tax consideration in commercial and operational decision-making.
International Expansions Restructurings & M&A
- Contribute in the tax assessment of international expansion projects including market entry analysis legal entity set-up considerations operating model implications and ongoing tax requirements in new jurisdictions.
- Own and coordinate the tax workstream for M&A joint ventures and strategic transactions including buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence support where relevant.
- Advise on the tax implications of acquisitions disposals post-deal integrations internal reorganizations and legal entity restructurings.
- Partner with Finance Legal Corporate Development and external advisors to help structure transactions in a tax-efficient and commercially practical manner.
- Assess and communicate transaction-related risks opportunities and integration considerations to senior stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of post-acquisition or post-restructuring tax and compliance requirements across the Group.
Cross Border Tax Support
- Coordinate and review transfer pricing documentation calculations and intercompany tax matters across the Group.
- Support the tax review of intercompany and cross-border transactions including withholding tax treatment and broader tax implications.
- Work closely with Finance Legal and external advisors to ensure tax positions are properly reflected in intercompany arrangements and operating models.
- Contribute to ensuring consistency between transfer pricing policies operational execution and financial reporting.
Tax Risks Governance & Controls
- Identify assess and help mitigate tax risks and uncertain tax positions across the Group.
- Maintain and enhance tax governance standards policies procedures and internal controls within the tax function.
- Support the implementation of robust documentation and control frameworks for both direct and indirect tax processes.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and assess their impact on the business and tax operating model.
Tax Audits & Authority Management
- Support and coordinate tax audits tax authority inquiries and dispute-related matters across jurisdictions.
- Liaise with local teams authorities and external advisors to gather information prepare responses and support defense strategies.
- Work with internal and external auditors on tax-related matters and ensure that tax positions are appropriately documented.
- Prepare clear summaries updates and recommendations on key tax matters for senior stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Tax Transformation
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate tax compliance reporting and control processes.
- Support tax process transformation and internalization initiatives where appropriate.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax data quality reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Support wider Group Tax projects and strategic initiatives as the function evolves.
What youll bring
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Economics or a related field.
- Masters degree or postgraduate specialization in Tax is strongly preferred.
- 810 years of progressive tax experience ideally combining Big 4/advisory and in-house multinational exposure.
- Strong technical knowledge across direct taxes indirect taxes tax accounting and tax compliance.
- Good understanding of corporate income tax VAT/GST withholding taxes and broader tax governance principles.
- Experience with transfer pricing intercompany matters and cross-border tax issues.
- Exposure to international expansion projects tax due diligence restructurings and M&A-related tax workstreams will be considered a strong advantage.
- Proven experience supporting or managing tax audits tax authority interactions and tax risk matters.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a clear business-oriented way.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance FP&A Legal Treasury Corporate Development and external advisors.
- Experience working in a fast-paced multinational environment.
- Understanding of IFRS/GAAP tax reporting is an advantage.
- Experience in digital online technology or regulated industries is a strong plus.
- Fluency in English is required. Greek and additional languages would be considered an asset.
