Reports to: Summer School Administrator
Work Schedule:Temporarypositions -up to 30 days - 5.0hours per day

Position Goal:
This position will support elementary and/or secondary staff in the identification and implementation of high-leverage research-based instructional strategies for our Multilingual students. This position requires knowledge of District procedures and policies the ability to assume responsibility and work effectively under pressure while maintaining confidentiality and the demonstration of strong interpersonal skills in order to support instruction across the curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teacher certificate
- English Language Learner or English as a Second Language endorsement
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience and/or training with cultural ethnic and language diversity preferred
- Successful teaching experience with diverse learners
- Demonstrated understanding of WIDA standards and program models related to English Language Development in an MTSS model
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively effectively and flexibly with adult learners
- Have a deep understanding of differentiated instruction for all students
- Washington State drivers license or evidence of mobility
- Experience and/or training with cultural ethnic and language diversity
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
- Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later)
- I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act
- Completion of all district-required training within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date

- Assist teachers in providing quality learning experiences for Multilingual Learners (MLs) including co-planning co-assessing and co-teaching

- Assist with ongoing program evaluations to determine the effectiveness of all programs
- Assist teachers in understanding how to use assessment data to guide instruction
- Coordinate facilitate and provide training and coaching for building staff necessary to implement and maintain high-quality programs for all multilingual learners
- Coordinate and administer assessments as needed
- Connect building staff to resources required for the successful implementation of all programs
- Facilitate and support teacher groups teams meetings etc. as requested
- Demonstrate a commitment to closing the achievement gap
- Model appropriate classroom support to teachers; provide situation-specific assistance adapted to the needs of the school and school staff; demonstrate lessons for teachers to observe; work alongside teachers demonstrating instructional strategies
- Attends Building Level meetings when requested
- Utilize district-adopted curriculum to guide instruction
- Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regular work hours
- Professionally interact with students staff and public
- Establish and maintain professional contact with students
- Comply with all district policies and procedures
- Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct
- Perform related duties as assigned
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is confined to a work area; required to have precise control of fingers and hand movements; experiences constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines; and must be able to stoop crouch crawl bend kneel stand for periods of time and lift in order to assist a student with personal care. The employee is required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and is exposed to infectious diseases carried by children. The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this particular environment and can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges.
Evaluation:
This position shall be evaluated by staff in the Department of Teaching and Learning pursuant to the currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria. The process shall include an evaluation of the employees performance of the above essential job functions.
