Duties are essential to the mission of the overall program and can affect the level quality and timeliness of services DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides professional and technical assistance and supervision of the Puyallup Tribal Restorative Correctional Facility in planning developing coordinating and implementing the corrections to the Chief of Police regarding foundational aspects of the administration of the Restorative Correctional Facility and programming. Follows through on all assignments given in a timely fashion. Makes well thought out recommendations for changes and takes initiative to improve restorative justice programming in an effort to adhere to the Mission and Goals of the Restorative Correctional as primary corrections contact to the U.S. Department of the Interior and Bureau of Indian Affairs (Albuquerque and District VIII) and ensures the Puyallup Tribal Restorative Correctional Facility and related corrections programs are in alignment with the Public Law 93-638 contract requirements/and Self Governance assistance to the Chief of Police on the development of a comprehensive detention program evaluation system to aid in identifying deficiencies and/or revision of standards policies & procedures program requirements and methodologies and basic training changes and/or modifications necessary to meet current and future fiscal needs of Correctional or amends corrections policies and operating procedures and processes for approval and that required staff training and certification is scheduled and accomplished providing a full complement of staffing for the Correctional scheduling to ensure twenty-four hour coverage. Plans organizes and supervises shifts and/or special programs within the department as instructed. Assures proper reporting and statistical information as the Tribe/Department at conferences and meetings regarding Corrections matters and/or issues. Maintains liaison with public and outside agencies to promote and enhance cooperation and understanding of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians Restorative Correctional consistent supervisory practices and policies throughout theCorrectional support to other sworn police officers and Law Enforcement supervisors as working logs of the facility and conducts or schedules needed preventive maintenance for the other Law Enforcement duties as RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has supervisory responsibility over Corrections Supervisor(s)/Shift Leaders administration staff and facilities/maintenance staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Puyallup Tribe of Indians personnel policies and procedures and all applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring coaching and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding recognizing and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving AND REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Should have an understanding of Tribal budgets and the budget SkillsAbility to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general SkillsAbility to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to create and interpret bar AbilityAbility to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
