Safety Manager/Director
Location: Holiday Corporate Office Utah Reports to: Head of Human Resources

Position Summary
The Safety Manager/Director is responsible for developing implementing and overseeing comprehensive safety programs across Holiday Oils retail stores fuel operations and warehouse/distribution facilities. This role ensures compliance with federal state and local regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture that protects employees customers and company assets.
The Safety Manager/Director will work cross-functionally with operations distribution and leadership teams to identify risks investigate incidents implement corrective actions and continuously improve safety performance throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Safey Leadership & Culture
- Lead initiatives to create a proactive safety culture throughout retail fuel and distribution operations.
- Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on safety performance compliance and risk management.
- Develop implement and maintain company-wide safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and recommend improvements.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including OSHA DOT EPA and state/local safety laws.
- Maintain required safety documentation records and reporting.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections and internal safety audits.
Risk Management & Incident Investigation
- Conduct risk assessments and identify workplace hazards.
- Investigate incidents injuries and near-miss events.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Track safety trends and develop prevention strategies.
Training & Communication
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees managers and operational teams.
- Promote safety awareness and accountability across all locations.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
Operational Safety Responsibilities
Fuel Operations Safety
- Implement safety standards for fuel storage tanks dispensing equipment and fuel delivery processes.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to fuel handling spill prevention and hazardous materials.
- Develop emergency response plans for fuel-related incidents including spills fires and environmental hazards.
- Coordinate safety procedures with fuel delivery vendors and contractors.
Retail Store Safety
- Establish safety standards for convenience store operations including customer areas food service and employee workspaces.
- Implement procedures to reduce slips trips falls and workplace injuries.
- Oversees safety training for store managers and employees.
- Monitor compliance through store inspections and safety audits.
Warehouse & Distribution Safety
- Develop safety programs for warehouse operations including forklift safety material handling and equipment operation.
- Implement procedures for loading/unloading storage and inventory handling.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations for transportation and distribution activities.
- Conduct warehouse safety inspections and hazard assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in occupational safety Environmental Health Industrial Hygiene or related field (preferred).
- Experience managing multi-site safety programs.
- HAZWOPER or related hazardous materials training is preferred.
- Experience in fuel retail logistics or distribution safety environments strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep knowledge of OSHA DOT EPA and environmental regulations.
- Risk assessment and hazard mitigation.
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Safety training and program development.
- Leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
- Frequent travel between retail locations fuel sites and warehouse facilities.
- Combination of office work site inspections and field safety oversight.
- May occasionally respond to safety incidents outside normal business hours.
