Job Description:
An ICWA Officernow officially known as a Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) in Indiais
responsible for managing costs auditing financial planning and improving operational efficiency within an organization. They specialize in analyzing cost structures inventory valuation and budgetary control to help management make informed financial decisions.
Core Responsibilities
- Cost Accounting & Control:Developing implementing and maintaining cost accounting systems and methods.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:Gathering data from departments to compile master budgets and performing variance analysis (standard vs. actual costs).
- Inventory Management:Valuing inventory reconciling stock reports and managing inventory provisioning (slow/non-moving items).
- Audit Compliance:Assisting in internal audits cost audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Financial Reporting (MIS):Preparing monthly or quarterly Management Information System (MIS) reports to support business decisions.
- Taxation & Statutory Compliance:Assisting with tax compliance including GST and in some cases direct taxation.
- ERP/System Improvement:Utilizing ERP systems (like SAP CO module) to enhance efficiency reduce manual entries and improve inventory reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Qualification:Passed Intermediate or Final examination from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI/ICWAI).
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in MS Excel ERP software (SAP) and accounting standards.
- Analytical Skills:Strong ability to analyze data identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
- Experience:Generally requires 310 years of experience in costing audit or financial management depending on the seniority of the position.
