Research Assistant Alumni Interviews (9 week term)Indigenous Communication & Fine ArtsRegina CampusThe First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) allows students of all nations to learn in an environment of First Nations cultures and values. The University continues to uphold its mission of enhancing the quality of life and preserving protecting and interpreting First Nations peoples history language culture and artistic is a unique learning place specializing in Indigenous knowledge and providing post-secondary education for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students within a culturally supportive First Nations University of Canada is a federated college of the University of Regina and its academic programs are accredited through that values include wisdom respect humility sharing harmony beauty strength and : Work with Program Coordinator to identify suitable SIFC-FNUniv alumni from 1976 to 2026 to participate in the 50thAnniversary Alumni Podcast SeriesContact potential participants to confirm participation and booking suitable times for interviewsResearch participants prior to interviewTailor question list to individual guestsRecord interviews - including managing and ensuring audio qualityDraft and record intros and outros for each episodeOther related duties assigned by Program CoordinatorQualifications:Graduate of the BA Indigenous Communication Arts programKnowledge Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of the history and mission of FNUniv and its alumni community Knowledge of journalism interview practices and ethicsKnowledge of basic audio recording and podcast production concepts learned in courses like INCA 351 Advanced Radio ProductionExperience with research methods and background preparation for interviewsDemonstrated ability to develop open ended questions active listening listening respectfully and patiently dealing with emotions follow up on detailsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to build rapport Experience with schedulingExperience with operating audio recorders basic editing with Audacity/AuditionExperience conducting background researchAbility to summarize interviews and writing intros/outrosStrong organizational skills Ability to meet deadlinesAbility to work independentlyExperience adapting interview questions during conversationExperience interviewing people for journalism assignments podcast production community engagement writing article/profilesIf you are interested in this opportunity please apply online at .
