JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the planning and execution of Discretionary and Capital projects within Attractions Operations. Collaborates with all levels of leadership within Attractions Operations the Safety and Compliance team and other key stakeholders to provide input that meets the Operations project requirements. Works closely with the Attractions Operations Management team Universal Creative Facilities Engineering Environmental Health & Safety Asset Management Program Global Attractions Program and vendors to define develop and execute the scope of their assignments as it relates to each of their respective specialties. Responsible for following the established project management process to deploy projects to meet business objectives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the management of all departmental discretionary projects. This includes work statements work breakdown structures developing and tracking budget and schedule tracking individual project tasks providing risk analysis tracking and resolving issues and action items providing various project management visibility and control measures. Collaborates with partners to gather requirements and quality assurance as needed.
- Manages Attractions Operations capital project development and implementation. Ensures appropriate documentation of project goals financial/business related needs and project milestone timelines. Coordinates design cost estimates and installation plans with Asset Management Program Global Attractions Program or Universal Creative Placemaking as necessary. Responsible for reviewing construction drawings construction specifications scopes of work and general conditions. Oversee in-park integration of projects to ensure operational expectations and service standards are met. Reviews ongoing project submissions and provides justification documentation where necessary for executive consideration in the annual planning cycle. Manages the reallocation of remaining capital funds to support business needs.
- Works closely with Attractions Management to understand their business needs and operational problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements for each project assigned. Discusses project requests with Attractions Operations Senior Leadership. Works with internal and external partners to identify and drive solutions for the assigned project to satisfy the operational requirements set forth from the project needed. Provides regular updates and visibility on project scope. After completion of a project follows up with Attractions Management to ensure the original scope was met.
- Communicates updates to Attractions Management on schedule and progress of each project as it relates to their specific attraction. Sets and communicates expectations monitors and follows up on all work to ensure proper completion and satisfaction tracking punch list items to closure. Develops documents and charts to brief leadership on project status. Utilizes good presentation skills to provide these updates to any stakeholder.
- Perform oversight of vendor contracts. Evaluate adherence to the contract requirements which includes all aspects of the project. These documents include but are not limited to Drawings Performance Specifications Permitting Scopes of Work Safety Plans and General Conditions.
- Completes bidding and awarding of the project with external vendors. This includes development of a bidders list project schedule preparation of a Request for Bid (RFB). The RFB includes instructions for the bid Scope of Work Construction Drawings General Performance Specifications Environmental Health and Safety requirements the Request for Information (RFI) process for questions and answers and addendums. Partners with Sourcing when applicable.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree is preferred in Project Management or Business Administration.
- Knowledge of project management concepts and processes requirements gathering and/or business analysis preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a front-of-house/operations venue required.
- Project Management and/or Business Analysis experience strongly preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Basic knowledge of ASTM ADA and OSHA standards helpful.
- Presentation / Facilitation Skills: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and large group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.
