Position Summary:
The co-op supportsproduct or process developmentactivities related to the development designresearchand manufacturing ofNxStageMedicalsnew and existingproducts.As part of the R&D team this involvesparticipatingin testing design building samples and other activities as needed by the project -ops may be part of the system engineering hardware mechanical engineering ordisposablesengineering team.
Core Responsibilities:
Participate in design or development of new medicalequipment and/or upgrades to existing products.
Assistwith major projects or phases of projects to resolve advanced and complex technicalproblems
Ensure all design activities conform to designcontrols;and thatall analysisdesignand testing activities are properly documented.
Participate in activities to ensure design and process shortcomings areidentifiedand appropriately addressed.
Assistthe product development team in the adoption and use of best practices and design methodologies.
Debugand develop reliability improvementsfor existing products and products under development.
Provide technical support for product engineering design development integrationtestand evaluation.
Investigate the feasibility of new projectssystemsor approaches.
Learn about and work in ways that are compliant with internal and external standards good manufacturing practices and quality system regulations.
Requirements:
Candidate forBS orMSinElectrical orComputerEngineering.
Entry level understanding of product and process development of medical devices is preferred.
Basic knowledge ofschematic capture and printed circuit board software tools.
Familiarity with analogdigitaland microprocessor circuitry.
Beginningunderstanding ofsystem design electronics mechanical and softwareintegrationand manufacturing processes.
Has a constructiveapproachteamwork and collaboration.
Demonstrated interest in medicaldeviceor pharmaceutical industries.
Excellent technical communication skills and attention to detail including creating and editing technical procedures protocols and reports.
Commitment to performing all tasks with quality andintegrity
