Psychiatry EmPath, ED Consult, Inpatient (Casual)

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking an experienced psychiatrist interested in casual shifts in a variety of settings in our health system.

Shifts are available on the following services:

• EmPath (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment Treatment and Healing) practice at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital
• Emergency Consult Team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center
• Inpatient Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

In This Role You Will:

• Join a team of multidisciplinary mental health specialists including psychiatrists psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners licensed therapists and psychiatric nurses.
• Determine the best level of care for patients provide acute treatment for occurring crisis and assist with discharge planning when needed.
• Work closely with ED providers in supporting the mental health patients in the ED.
• Provide consultative support to the medical patients on-site and other facilities via telemedicine.
• Completes comprehensive substance use disorder assessment.
• Provides basic alcohol and opioid withdrawal treatment.

Schedule:

• Casual
• Day evening and weekend shifts (68 or 12-hour shifts)
• No Call

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME Psychiatry training program.
• Board eligible/certified with the ABMS.
• Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

Compensation:

Casual rate of pay is $163/hr.
