Summary of Job Duties:

Little Rock Athletics is seeking a Head Mens Basketball Coach who will be responsible for the successful execution in planning developing and administering all phases of the mens basketball program including recruiting practice planning student-athlete development and full compliance with NCAA Conference and University policies. This position requires strong leadership integrity and the ability to foster a disciplined and motivating team culture. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. university policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

• A bachelors degree with five (5) years of intercollegiate basketball coaching experience is preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Masters degree preferred;
• Previous head coaching experience at the collegiate level.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership organization and supervision for all aspects of the mens basketball program;
• Supervises student-athletes during practices and games observing and evaluating performance and demonstrating proper techniques;
• Monitors the academic performance of student-athletes in conjunction with the academic staff;
• Recruit and evaluate high-quality high school and transfer student athletes;
• Manages the mens basketball program within the parameters of the approved operating budget including athletic scholarships and additional revenue share funds;
• Assists in fundraising activities as necessary including but not limited to representing the mens basketball program at professional meetings alumni events and other events as necessary;
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with alumni and supporters;
• Interview supervise train and evaluate assistant coaches and other support staff in the performance of their duties;
• Observes and promotes an atmosphere of compliance with all NCAA United Athletic Conference (UAC) and institutional rules;
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

• Expertise in the technical aspects of basketball;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability to interact effectively with coaches administrators student athletes alumni and donors;
• Extremely organized self-starter intrinsically motivated;
• Proven ability to multitask effectively;
• Ability to prioritize specific tasks and meet deadlines;
• Proficient computer skills including the ability to utilize Teamworks platforms;
• Availability to work a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends;
• Travel with sports teams for away contests;
• Thorough knowledge of NCAA and UAC conference rules and regulations;
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid drivers license.
