A typical salary for this position is up to $46000 commensurate on education and experience. Additional benefitsinclude medical dental vision and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Housing Lifecycle
System & Strategy: Manage housing software occupancy reports and the database of housing information.
The Selection Process: Plan and implement housing contracts and selectin for both the academic year and summer sessions.
Communication Hub: Serve as the primary resource for students families and faculty regarding housing matters collaborating closely with Admissions Financial Aid and Facilities.
Digital Presence: Maintain the Student Life housing webpages and campus pages to ensure information is accurate and accessible.
Staff Mentorship: Train professional and student staff in the housing process to ensure a seamless student experience.
Student Engagement
Program Leadership: Oversee the Weekend Adventures and Excursion program and plan major campus-wide events.
Advising & Support: Serve as the Advisor for the Residence Hall Association (RHA) the Senior Class Officers and the Thrifty Beaver food and clothing pantry.
Alumni & Community connection: Act as a liaison to the Alumni Office and partner with the Hunger Liaison and other campus programmers to support diverse student endeavors.
Leadership & Collaboration
Committee Representation: Participate as a member of the UMF Summer Registration Committee and the UMS housing group.
Duty Rotation: As a live-on professional you will participate in the residence hall duty rotation and occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed.
Budgeting & Supervision: Manage budgets for your programs and directly supervise student workers to help them grow as leaders.
Required Skills & Core Competencies
Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships with students families staff faculty and co-workers.
Effective Communications: Excellent written verbal listening and interpersonal communication skills.
Organizational Prowess: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple overlapping housing and activity schedules.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to handle residential and programming challenges.
Collaboration & Customer Service: Ability to work effectively with all levels across the institution and highly developed customer service skills to support the campus community.
Technical Proficiency: Strong computer literacy including word processing spreadsheets presentation software database management and knowledge of social media platforms.
Environment: Ability to live on campus and serve as part of the duty rotation for the residence halls and the ability to work some evenings and weekends when necessary.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Psychology Sociology Human Development Management Pubic Health Public Administration Education Leadership or any related fields.
Experience: Up to one (1) year of relevant professional experience.
Program Planning: Practical experience in planning programs and events.
Emergency Response: Experience dealing with emergencies and urgent situations.
Operational Technology: Experience with technology that helps organize processes procedures and planning.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Education: Masters degree in Student Affairs Higher Education or other related fields.
Theoretical Knowledge: A solid understanding of college student development theory.
Advanced Programming: Specific experience in program planning and implementation.
Crisis Management: Direct experience in managing crises within a campus setting.
Specialized Software: Experience managing housing management software or related systems such as room reservation or event space tools.
