Job Summary
Position Overview
This is an entry-level position but over time well train you on the skills youll need to grow into new roles or this role youll assist with daily plant operation and maintenance. If youve got the drive well help you to reach your goals.
Wage: $18.00 /hr w/ potential for overtime.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Operateequipment safely and efficiently within its designed parameters.
- Clean working areas around plant.
- Shovel excess materials from around conveyors and other areas generating frequent build up.
- Operate skid steer.
- Perform general clean-up and maintenance (i.e. oiling greasing plant equipment) duties as assigned.
- Assist other departments with maintenance operations and/or other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
- Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minium Qualifications
- A strong desire to grow and the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks and equipment.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently without direct supervision and has a positive attitude.
- Safety minded professional.
- Demonstrates good performance attendance and punctuality.
- Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
Work Environment:
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
- Primarily work 8 - 12 hours per day 5-7 days per week during the peak season occasional night work.
Physical Demands:
- The employee is frequently required to reach with arms waist to shoulder height sit stand walk and handle/grasp equipment and machines.
- The employee is occasionally required to lift carry and/or push/pull anywhere up to 50-75 lbs.
- The employee is occasionally required to crawl kneel bend squat crouch or climb. And reach with arms above shoulder height or below knee height.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and depth perception.
