The Civil Division DefensiveLitigation Unit seeks a Deputy Attorney General to serve as an Assistant UnitHead in the New Castle County office.The Deputy Attorneys General inthe Defensive Litigation Unit represent the State its agencies officials andemployees in all civil litigation in wide variety of proceedings in federal andstate court including civil rights employment social services lawenforcement corrections and other litigated matters arising out of Stateoperations and legislation. Casesfrequently present questions of administrative law federal and stateconstitutional law and statutory interpretation.

Essential Functions
As Assistant Unit Head this individual will report to the Unit Head and assist in all aspects of managing the Unit while carrying a litigation caseload. The Assistant Unit Head must have or be able to develop a good working relationship with other Deputy Attorneys General support staff and clients and must have the ability and determination to learn new areas of the law in order to guide and support the Deputy Attorneys General in this Unit. - Occasional travel to all counties is a requirement of this position.
- Membership in the Delaware Bar is required.
- This Assistant Unit Head must be admitted to the District of Delaware the Third Circuit Court of Appeals or eligible for admission to those courts.
