As a Field Service and Warranty Engineer you will play a crucial role in the launch of our new products including E-Turbochargers E-Compressors E-Cooling systems and Fuel Cell Compressors. This is a brand-new position where you will use your expertise to establish and set up standards for these innovative technologies in the area of warranty and field service.
Responsibilities:
- conduct physical warranty analysis of products returned by customers sometimes on customer location
- document issues and collect necessary data for traceability and analysis
- provide preliminary diagnosis and root cause analysis
- collaborate with customers and internal experts to confirm and implement solutions
- minimize the burden on GTX experts by thoroughly analyzing data and suggesting solutions
- facilitate communication between Garrett and customer stakeholders
- identify systematic issues and support the resolution process
- maintain the GTX Field Service database with detailed reports
- provide specialist support and training to other team members and customers
Your qualification:
- bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Mechatronics Information Technology or a related area
- minimum of 5 years of industry experience in engineering warranty or quality preferably in the automotive sector but automotive is not a must
- strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with 8D approach vehicle diagnostics CAN and network management
- knowledge in one of these topics or similar area- electric machines inverters electric motors or internal combustion engine technology
- fluent in English with excellent communication and teamwork skills
- experience with ASPICE ISO26262 ISO21434 and vehicle communication networks advantage
- automotive Software Development knowleg such as:
- understanding of different stages of Development Lifecycle (Before and after production start V Model)
- verification and Validation experience (with Hardware using tools from Vector/ETAS: CANoe CANape INCA)
- understanding the Diagnostics of ECUs and Vehicle (OBD DTCs)
- experience with Communication protocols (CAN Flexray) - electronics/Power Electronics knowledge:
- experience with Electronic Hardware related tests (Passive Measurements like Diode Resistance etc. Insulation Measurements)
- ability to analyze Electronic Circuits using schematics (Electrical check at component level)
- understanding of Power Electronics - how Motor Control works (Inverters Electric Motors)
