We are a seeking a Senior Mainframe Storage Architect. a text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; tr th tr td border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; tr th background-color: #f5f5f5; The Senior Mainframe Storage Architect is responsible for defining designing and evolving enterprise-scale mainframe storage architecture across disk SAN and virtual tape environments. This role works across business operations and technology teams to establish architectural vision guide solution design and ensure that storage platforms support current and future product service and resilience requirements.
The architect leads complex solution design efforts contributes to enterprise architecture roadmaps and ensures non-functional requirements such as security performance scalability reliability and recoverability are met. The role requires deep technical expertise in mainframe storage technologies strong architectural judgment and the ability to influence and lead under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Works across the business operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for complex solutions and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog to enable the technology roadmap and functionality to support evolving capabilities and services
- Contributes to the creation of the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business Application Data and Technology) in support of the product roadmap and the development of best practices including standardized templates
- Clarifies the architecture assists with system design to support implementation and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
- Facilitates solution driven discussions leads the design of complex architectures and finds creative solutions through knowledge of domain practical experiments and proof of concepts while ensuring architecture is flexible modular and adaptable
- Educates team members on the technology practices standardization strategies and best practices to create innovative solutions
- Supports the team as needed to select the technology stack required for solutions and helps select preferred technology products
- Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements are sufficiently met (for example security performance maintainability scalability usability and reliability)
- Mainframe Storage Architect (Individual Contributor)
- Duties to include collaborating with others designing developing and setting strategy for mainframe storage architecture in a large diverse dynamic and exciting storage environment. Responsibilities will span mainframe storage disk engineering and virtual tape.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 Years experience leading and managing multiple competing and dynamic deliverables
- 10 Years experience and skills to include:
- Storage Architecture
- Encryption
- Fiber protocols and configuration
- FICON
- HCD/IOCP
- I/O Performance (DASD Switches Virtual Tape)
- Refreshes/upgrades (inclusive of Brocade directors/switches Hitachi DASD and IBM Virtual Tape (TS7700s))
- Storage Area Network (SAN) replication design and configuration
- Capacity (inclusive of network/switches)
- Cost benefit analysis/consolidation/reduction
- Design and Planning of Data Center Moves
- Inclusive of data center role swaps (prod to contingency/disaster recovery and back)
- Disaster Recovery Exercises
- Ability to lead and set direction under minimal supervision
- Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
