This position is for our Extendicare Timmins Home located in Timmins ON.

Available opportunities include Full-Time/Part-Time/ Casual; Day/Evening/ Night shifts.

What youll be doing

• Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation.

• Prepares food and nourishments in accordance with prescribed diets.

• Maintains all required records and monitors quality and quantity of food.

• Directs Dietary Aides in basic food preparation procedures and in serving activities at mealtimes.

• Assumes responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

What you bring

• Chef training or culinary management certificate or diploma from a program that meets the requirements of the OLTCH Act or

• Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by an authority meeting the requirements of the OLTCH Act or

• Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition or

• Institutional health care restaurant or hospitality cooking experience

• Red Seal certification preferred

• Current Food Handlers Certificatepreferred

• Experience with an older adult population an asset

• Strong customer and resident service skills.

• Experience in a high paced customer service setting an asset

• Flexible and willingness to learn new tasks

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to quickly changing priorities

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills

• Ability to read write and follow instructions in English (other languages an asset)
