Position Summary:
The Logistics Tech supports Trinity Healths Supply Chain operations by receiving staging and delivering supplies and equipment throughout the organization. This role helps ensure materials are accurately accounted for stored appropriately and distributed in a timely manner to support both clinical and non-clinical departments. Working collaboratively with staff across the organization the Logistics Tech maintains a clean orderly work environment and provides responsive high-quality customer service. Through attention to detail coordination and teamwork this position helps ensure essential supplies are available where and when needed supporting safe efficient and uninterrupted patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive inspect and document incoming shipments; verify accuracy against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies when necessary.
- Deliver supplies equipment and materials to departments across the organization following established routes priorities and safety procedures.
- Maintain organized inventory storage areas rotate stock and assist with inventory counts to ensure product availability and reduce waste.
- Respond to departmental supply requests provide courteous customer service and communicate effectively with clinical and support staff.
- Utilize basic computer systems for data entry inventory documentation and tracking of supply movement.
- Support supply chain process improvements and assist with special projects or unexpected supply needs as assigned.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- A valid drivers license may be required.
Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED strongly preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- One year of experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- One year of customer service experience preferred.
Special Skills or Training Requirements:
- Ability to perform duties requiring independent judgment.
- Be adaptive to changing work situations.
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of medical supplies.
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry experience required.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent standing walking bending reaching and lifting or moving of materials and supplies often weighing up to moderate amounts. The role involves pushing and pulling carts operating material handling equipment and moving through various hospital areas throughout the workday. Adequate vision hearing and manual dexterity are necessary to safely handle supplies read labels and operate equipment.
Environmental Requirements:
Work is performed in warehouse storeroom and hospital environments with exposure to varying temperatures noise levels and frequent movement between locations. The role may encounter crowded hallways busy clinical areas and occasional contact with cleaning chemicals or equipment. Adherence to safety procedures infection prevention practices and proper lifting techniques is essential to ensure a safe working environment.
