Introduction to the Aga Khan University:
The Aga Khan Universitys Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) was established in the year 2020 to serve as a University-wide entity for providing a unique platform for facilitating strategic engagements and partnerships between AKU University of Central Asia and the wider Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). IGHD aims to address global health and environmental challenges by creating a multi-disciplinary support system and infrastructure whereby researchers across campuses and regions can collaborate and contribute.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Job Roles / Responsibilities:
To work with the Research Specialist and Research Manager on a research project in order to investigate/establish the aims and objectives of the research project.
The incumbent will be responsible in:
- to perform vaccination of children and pregnant women in the health facility and outreach in his catchment area as instructed by his supervisor;
- to maintain the list of fully immunized children those who are up to date with their immunization schedules those who are due and those who are defaulters;
- work in liaison with the LHC and polio teams and other field staff for follow-up with the defaulter children and complete their immunization schedule;
- Outreach vaccinators are required to upload immunization data with the correct CNIC/ CONTACT NUMBER for each individual in real-time directly from the vaccination site using the HFP and EMR app and can synch it once they are back to health facilities after connecting their devices to the internet;
- maintain all immunization records on the permanent immunization register. He will also maintain the daily register and keep both of the registers up to date;
- fixed site/ Health Facility vaccinators will upload all immunization day-to-day records on the HFP and EMR vaccinator app with the correct CNIC OR CONTACT NUMBER;
- maintain a stock register and accounting of vaccines refrigerators vaccine carriers ice packs thermometers etc;
- ensure that the equipment is in working order and that it is not used for any other purpose than the EPI program;
- attend any training/refresher courses planned for the vaccinators by the provincial or district health departments or AKU team;
- It is mandatory for both fixed and outreach vaccinators to separately maintain the vaccination record and vaccines in ILR;
- The vaccinator will prepare monthly EPI disease surveillance AEFI and Due/Defaulter reports;
- will be responsible for displaying charts maps graphs and tables in the health facility showing the area and monthly/annual progress reports of the facility and union council;
- will submit the monthly report containing vaccine consumption and immunization report in the prescribed format to the Medical Officer of the Health Facility/ DSV of the district for onward compilation and submission to the provincial office;
- will be available for any campaigns other than EPI-related activities arranged by the District Health Authority Provincial EPI and Provincial EOC;
- will ensure to hand over all the syringes needles sharps and other wastes as per SOP on HCWM to the government vaccinator for disposal as protocol;
- In case of leave LHV will perform his/her duties;
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor (MO WMO) and Project Manager.
Requirements:
The applicant should have:
- Bachelors or Intermediate with Diploma in LHV or Midwife;
- at least 1-2 years of experience will be preferred in relevant field;
- strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills;
- ability and willingness to work independently in peri-urban and field settings;
- flexibility in taking over additional/new responsibilities when required by the project or directed by reporting Manager;
- sound clinical judgment and community health knowledge;
- proficient in Urdu and English (verbal and written);
- ability to organize plan and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
