Job Purpose
- The Voids Officer plays a vital role within the Rehousing Team by ensuring that vacant Council properties are re-let quickly efficiently and to a high standard. The postholder will coordinate the full voids management processfrom property inspection and works coordination to arranging viewings and completing lettingshelping to minimize void rent loss and reduce reliance on costly temporary accommodation. Working to ambitious turnaround targets the Voids Officer ensures properties are brought back into use promptly while delivering excellent customer service to residents and applicants.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Deliver an efficient customer-focused voids management service across the Councils permanent housing stock.
- Coordinate and oversee all stages of the void process ensuring repairs inspections compliance checks and lettings activities meet organizational standards and performance targets.
- Monitor void turnaround times and take proactive action to minimize delays.
- Ensure properties meet quality safety and regulatory requirements before being re-let.
Essential Experience Required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents colleagues and multi-agency partners.
Essential Qualifications Required
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
Additional Information to Note
- Working hours: 36 hours per week
- Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child & adult)
- bi weekly payment schedule
