Location: Kharagpur West Bengal
Role Objective
To lead the Human Resources function at the manufacturing unit ensuring seamless plant operations through effective workforce management proactive Industrial Relations (IR) and strict adherence to statutory compliances.
Key Responsibilities
- Industrial Relations & Union Management: Maintain a peaceful work environment by managing labor relations handling grievances and leading union negotiations (if applicable).
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with the Factories Act Contract Labour Act Payment of Wages Act and other West Bengal state-specific labor laws.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Manage end-to-end recruitment for technical shop-floor roles and staff positions; oversee the induction of new hires.
- Contract Labor Management: Supervise contractor agencies ensuring timely wage payments PF/ESI compliance and safety standards for the flexible workforce.
- Performance & Training: Implement the annual performance appraisal cycle and identify technical/behavioral training needs for plant employees.
- Administration & Welfare: Oversee canteen management staff transportation security services and employee wellness initiatives.
Core Competencies
- Conflict Resolution: Ability to stay calm and objective during labor disputes.
- Local Networking: Established rapport with local government authorities (Labor Office DIC etc.).
- Operational Excellence: Focused on improving shop-floor productivity through HR interventions.
